Solsteads began as an art project designed to provide a platform for NFT holders to display their NFTs in a gallery online under a web address tied to their Solstead NFT street address.

The original owners made two collections, Solsteads Surreal Estate\[FW1] (minted 29/09/21) which were created for the gallery functionality, followed by Solsteads Citizens\[FW2] (minted 08/02/22), marketed as “guests” for the Solsteads Estates.

In March 2022, Solport acquired the Solsteads project from the original creators with aims to expand on the functionality of Solsteads NFTs and increase value to holders by providing greater utility than the end-of-line gallery function that the original creators had settled with.

Staking was introduced and plans for a Surreal World Metaverse with gaming functionality were made with a heafty investment into staff and art keeping the orignal vision including a 2D explorable lobby featuring player shops, a merch store, but soon after the acquisition the 2022 bear market hit and in conjunction with royalties being made optional and a fall in transactional volumes across the NFT market, this model became unviable and a pivot was needed. \
\
**What now for Solsteads?**

Having pivoted away from metaverse development, a new direction was taken to align with the short-term/degen nature of the NFT market and the development of the Solsteads Arcade began.

**The Solsteads Arcade:**

We have now released the arcade games that you know and love in true Solsteads style and provide a platform for you to challenge your friends to PVP-style games with your SPL tokens on the line.

The goal of the arcade consists of three things:

1\. Providing a fun platform that utilises the high quality and unique art style of the Solsteads brand to enable players to bet against each other in skill-based games such as Minesweeper, Candy Crush, and Battleships.

2\. Use revenue earned from the platform fee in the arcade to feed back to holders.

3\. Offer other projects the ability to whitelabel our arcade in their own art styles to generate revenue from their holders while taking a fee from each transaction on their label which feeds back into revshare.

\
**Arcade-enomics**

**Our Fee:**

We take a 5% fee for all games played on the arcade.

E.g., two players bet 1 SOL each on a game, 2 SOL is now in the pot. A winner is drawn, 5% of the pot goes to us (0.1 SOL), winner receives the difference (1.9 SOL).

N.B. Transaction fees are not considered in this example and as such, real earnings may vary.

Of that 5% fee, 50% is collected for use as revshare to qualifying holders.\
\
\
**Qualifications:**

To qualify for revshare you need the following: \
\
15 Citizens count as 1 entry for revshare.\
\
1 House = 1 entry for revshare.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://solport.gitbook.io/graphite-whitepaper/nfts/solsteads-citizens.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
