Faction wars press release.
V1 of the Pilots game is now live.
KEY INFO: "Faction Wars" is a PVP game, so when Version 2 is released, your progress will only carry over to PVP modes.
The next mode is PVE (Player vs. Environment), which isn't based on levels but focuses on stealth and not combat.
It's been an extremely long day for us, but I tried to make a quick video going over the tech release so people could understand how it works. (I'm too tired to even watch the video back, so hopefully I did a good job.) I'm super stoked to get this out there to the community and get it in people's hands. This is a v1 version; there will be issues and stuff missing. Tomorrow we'll be adding in the following: Bulk leveling and upgrading (for people with a lot of pilots) Fixing reactivity and refresh issues that we spotted today (which didn't happen in testing on devnet). Adding faction/stat/level filters and missing hiding or filtering missions based on what you own or qualify for will uncog the UI. Increasing the size of the "tablet" on the UI so it's possible for people to read text easier and know what's going on without zooming in This technology has been tested on mobile and does work according to our testing, which I know a lot of people have asked about. This tech is fully on chain, meaning it has some drawbacks, like the fact that you need to sign every TX you do. We know this is a huge UX. The reason for building it on chain is because that's where our comfort zone lies. We knew that we could build a better, more secure app on chain and stay comfortable. This doesn't mean we don't take UX seriously; we take that seriously enough that we're developing a whole new contract wallet that allows you to delegate your pilots on chain to us with your "ledger/wallet" as the controller so we can sign TX's in game for you, which we aim to release in v2. We have made the mission start tomorrow at certain times due to us having some issues with deployment (I'm happy to go over them in the chat, but mainly it was random things that didn't occur during "fakenet" testing and appeared on the real network). Also, our main dev is in California right now, so for the rest of the team in the EU we had to work on his time, which definitely didn't help. This will be building in real time like you've never seen it. Expect updates and fixes and community-suggested feedback to be at the top of the list, determined to make this shit pop off and be fun.
